Bio
Michael Rahe is an assistant professor in the department of Population Health and Pathobiology at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His research focuses on the pathology and adaptive immune response to viral infections of livestock. Michael received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University while concurrently achieving a Master of Public Health from the University of Iowa. He then moved on to graduate school at the University of Minnesota where he completed a PhD in immunology in 2017. This was followed by an anatomic pathology residency at Iowa State University, where he was a clinical and then tenure-track assistant professor in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at ISU from 2019 to 2023 and achieved diplomate status within the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2021. Michael became an assistant professor at NC State in May of 2023.
