MMB’s 20th Anniversary Event

Join North Carolina State University’s Master of Microbial Biotechnology (MMB) Program to commemorate two decades of success and innovation within the biotechnology and academic spheres. The MMB program seeks to reflect on its collaboration and connection with the local biotech industry as well as celebrate the future of the program and the limitless potential that the next two decades hold. Be part of this momentous occasion and contribute to the dialogue that will shape the next era of
microbial biotechnology.

The agenda includes keynote addresses from two local research and industry leaders: Geoff Bock (North Carolina Plant Sciences Initiative) and Kristen Eads (UCB).

Geoff Bock is an MMB alumnus with over 10 years of experience working in marketing and business development across the biotech and life sciences sectors since graduating in 2009. As Director of Operations for the North Carolina Plant Sciences Initiative, he serves as an administrative liaison with PSI strategic planning consultants and manages all day-to-day operations and project activities within NC State’s Plant Sciences Building. Geoff previously served as Director of Marketing and Business Development at The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences where he managed Hamner’s Biosciences Accelerator for commercialization of novel biotechnologies.

Kristen Eads is an MMB alumnus offering extensive marketing and consumer experience expertise spanning over 15 years within the biopharmaceutical field. After graduating in 2006, she worked as Director of Consumer Marketing at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) where she focused on holistic marketing strategy, campaign development, and media strategy across multiple point-of-care platforms. She currently serves as Director of Rare Patient Experience and Design at UCB where she leads post-prescription global branding initiatives, develops product strategy plans to enhance the market positioning of UCB assets, and works to improve patient experience via multiple engagement strategies
and channels.
