RED Implementation for CALS Set To Begin May 4

CALS will begin using the RED Proposal Development (PD) module for all new proposals starting May 4. Existing and in-process PINS records will be finished within the PINS system. Additionally, COE is still transitioning fully to RED, so PINS may still be utilized for COE-based proposals.

Interface with the PD module will primarily be handled by CALS Pre-Award Office upon notification by CALS PIs via the new CALS Pre-Award Form for PD.

To learn about the new Pre-Award Form and CALS transition to PD, please plan to attend one of the following CALS Lunch & Learn sessions.

CALS Lunch & Learn – Transitioning from PINS to RED PD

Mark your calendars! Attendance is highly encouraged. CALS Pre-Award will be hosting three identical lunch & learn sessions. These sessions are designed to show CALS faculty how the Pre-Award team plans to move from PINS to RED PD since PINS is being phased out. The demo portion of the session will be about 10-15 minutes, followed by a brief Q&A. Each session will cover the same content, so only one session needs to be attended.

Additionally, to learn how to review/route a proposal in PD, please plan to also attend RED U 305 – Proposal Approvals and Routing, offered by the RED Training team. Please register via REPORTER

Below are the current dates (more trainings can be added as needed):

  • Thursday, April 16 | 10:00-10:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, April 22 | 1:00-1:30 p.m.
  • Friday, May 1 | 9:00-9:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, May 5 | 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Additionally, the RED Training team has created a step-by-step guide for the process.
