Current Plan

CALS Strategic Plan 2023-2030, Growing Our Future, is an employee-driven strategic plan that charts the course for CALS through the year 2030.

CALS’ strategic planning process kicked off in the spring of 2021 with the formation of a strategic planning team charged with creating the best place to learn and work for everyone. Through a series of surveys, listening sessions, focus groups and one-on-one interviews, the strategic plan was constructed and finalized in December 2022. We are thrilled to share the CALS Strategic Plan 2023-2030 which includes 10 strategic priorities, 17 goals and 63 key initiatives aimed to elevate and guide the college to achieve its highest potential.

Measuring Success

Each Strategic Priority identified in the strategic plan includes a list of Success Metrics that will help ensure we are meeting the goals and initiatives laid out in the plan. As we embark on the next seven years, we will continuously return to these metrics, providing updates to the CALS community along the way.

Leadership

Our strategic planning team consisted of faculty, staff, and student representation spanning CALS’ departments and units. Additionally, four Advisory Groups were formed – students, staff, external units, and internal non-departmental units – that advised the planning team.

These goals reflect our land-grant mission that provides the foundation for innovation in all aspects of higher education, and our commitment to core values that support the entire university community. The CALS strategic plan will include many of the same ideals and principles as we work to serve the same audience.
