Business Purpose for PCard Receipts

As outlined in the PCard Manual for Cardholders, cardholders are responsible for all charges on their cards and carry responsibility for maintaining and uploading receipts and including a business purpose and a Project ID for all transaction receipts in a timely manner.
As a reminder, a detailed business purpose must be documented on the receipt (or on a separate document that is uploaded with the receipt). The business purpose field in the PCard Center is intended for cardholders to communicate Project ID information to the reconciler. The business purpose in the drop-down list in the PCard Center is just a generic, high-level purpose to help the reconciler identify the correct account code at the time of reconciling transactions. These comments do not carry forward in WRS and must be visible in the financial system so an auditor or any other internal or external reviewer can clearly conclude what was purchased and the business purpose.
