The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Fund Research in Sub-Saharan Africa

Craig Yencho, a William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor of Horticulture and co-developer of the Covington sweet potato, recently received a three-year, $15-million-dollar grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as part of a multidisciplinary team of scientists led by the International Potato Center (CIP), to continue improving sweet potatoes in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Funds Basic Agricultural Research to Improve Crop Resilience

Researchers from the University of Copenhagen, Aarhus University, North Carolina State University and the Technical University of Denmark received a $30-million dollar grant to create more efficient and more sustainable agriculture and pave the way for the next green revolution.
