Submission Deadline for Symposium Posters: Sunday, April 20th @230pm
“Please follow the instructions below to save and submit your poster to the CALS IT Print Portal:
To save a poster for printing you can use a number of different software options. Most commonly our users create their posters within Google Slides or Microsoft Powerpoint and export them as a .pdf to be printed.
The size of your poster is directly dictated by the size outlined in your file submission. There is no option to select a specific size within the CALS IT Print Portal.
To set your desired size in Google Slides: go to “File”>”Page Setup”>Click the dropdown>Select “Custom”>Enter your desired dimensions in inches>Click “Apply”
To set your size in Microsoft Powerpoint: go to “Design” tab>Select “Slide Size”>Click “Custom Slide Size”>Enter your desired dimensions in inches>Click “Ok”
Once you’ve set your desired size in your software of choice you can export your file as a .pdf. After saving it’s always recommended to view your file and its details to ensure everything is correct before proceeding to submit your poster file.
The CALS IT Print Service supports a number of sizes to fit your needs. You can find more information about our supported sizes at the link in the steps below. **Please note: Our print stock is 36” wide and we do not offer cutting services, therefore, one of the dimensions of your poster must be 36” to avoid having excessive white space bordering your poster.**
On the submission page, review the pickup timeline notice and click the “Choose File” button to select your poster for submission. All files must be in .pdf format.
Once uploaded, review your file and title and click “Submit.”
Upon submission you will receive an email that we have received your file and you’ll be assigned a pickup date. The standard pickup time for posters submitted before 2:30pm is the following business day after 2:30pm. This timeline is subject to change depending on volume of submissions as noted on the submission page.
To avoid any potential delays and to allow for resubmission if you should find an issue on your poster after pickup it is recommended that you submit your poster several days in advance of when you will need it. The earlier you can submit the better.
You will NOT receive an email notification when your poster is ready to pickup. Your submission confirmation email will give you a time to stop by our offices to collect your poster.
All posters can be picked up from the bins located outside of our office in Patterson Hall, room G16.
If you have any issues accessing the CALS IT Print Portal, problems submitting your file, or some other issue we may be able to resolve you can email us at cals_facil@help.ncsu.edu and we’ll follow up with you to provide the necessary assistance.
