Get answers to many frequently asked questions about the MMB program. If you need additional information, please fill out our contact form<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A Professional Science Master<\/a> degree (PSM) is a new philosophy in graduate science education. For this degree, science students combine advanced scientific training with the development of workplace skills employers value (e.g., communication skills, team-building, business development, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the MMB PSM program, students complete practicum projects their first three semesters and a capstone in their final semester. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n We accept applications for fall admission only<\/strong>. We admit students on a rolling basis and review applications at the beginning of the spring semester. We typically receive most applications between January and March. We allocate about 15 seats for each cohort and offer admission on a rolling basis. Thus, the timing of your application is essential<\/strong>. They collect practical, industry-related experience through the coursework and project elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students spend the first few weeks of each semester learning about topics related to the biotechnology industry, attending seminars led by industry guest speakers, and practicing their oral and written communication skills. During the semester, students work in assigned teams to complete practicum projects developed by partnering companies in the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area. The companies and teams change each semester to increase students\u2019 exposure to different sectors and foster versatility in teamwork. If an applicant submits an otherwise strong application, we may select him or her to move on to the interview portion of the admission process.
