Amelia Loeb

GRAD-AID for Ag Fellow

Bio

Amelia is a PhD student studying bioinformatics with a focus on sweetpotato breeding. She earned a bachelor’s degree in horticulture science from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in crop and soil environmental science from Virginia Tech. In between, she interned and then worked for Driscoll’s in California. She loves plants, food, and data (especially if it’s about plants and food). Her multifaceted research integrates genomic information and high throughput phenotyping to better focus the plant improvement process toward breeding targets. She is elated to be part of the GRAD-AID for Ag Program.
