{"id":452,"date":"2024-02-19T16:11:53","date_gmt":"2024-02-19T21:11:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/units.cals.ncsu.edu\/business-operations\/?p=452"},"modified":"2024-03-26T12:34:51","modified_gmt":"2024-03-26T16:34:51","slug":"penalties-for-splitting-charges-on-pcards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/units.cals.ncsu.edu\/core-support\/news\/penalties-for-splitting-charges-on-pcards\/","title":{"rendered":"Penalties for Splitting Charges on PCards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Splitting transactions to avoid spending limits on PCards is <strong><em>never allowed<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purchase of goods or services with a cost greater than $5,000 requires a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1LxVHX3k7qSTtmHOSqnfvb6s-WcXQ6F9NuG6RvhezgoU\/edit#heading=h.mfxxd0ufy13i\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Temporary Increase to Spending Limits<\/a> submitted through the PCard Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">University Procurement has regular review procedures in place to detect split transactions. Attempts to circumvent this process could lead to revocation of PCard privileges. The consequences for splitting transactions are listed below. Exceptions do apply.
