Hertz Car Rental has official status under the North Carolina State Term Contract for vehicle rentals, expanding options for faculty and staff conducting official university business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To accommodate this change and streamline rental car arrangements, an updated Rental Car Request Form is live on the<a href=\"https:\/\/controller.ofa.ncsu.edu\/accounts-payable\/travel\/state-term-contract-vehicle-rentals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> University Controller&#8217;s Website &gt; State Term Contract Vehicle Rentals<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Highlights and Reminders <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-padded-list\">\n<li><strong>Expanded Rental Options:<\/strong> When traveling on official state business, employees must utilize vehicle rental providers on State Term Contract 7811A whenever available. The updated contract has been expanded to include domestic and international rental options. You can now choose Hertz alongside your existing contract vendors, such as Enterprise and National.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Updated Request Form: <\/strong>When utilizing direct billing for a rental reservation, please use the updated form on the Controller&#8217;s Office website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Payment Procedures:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Direct Billing:<\/strong> Use the new University Direct Bill Vehicle Rental Request form for reservations billed directly to a university project account. The University Travel team will secure the reservation, update the approved Travel Authorization (TA) with the reservation details, send the confirmation to the traveler and department contact, and ensure the reservation is billed directly to the project specified on the approved TA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PCard or Personal Credit Card:<\/strong> Continue booking directly through the vendor reservation portals (<a href=\"https:\/\/partners.rentalcar.com\/stateofnorthcarolina\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Enterprise\/National<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hertz.com\/link.html?id=70097&amp;LinkType=HZLK&amp;TargetType=Homepage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Hertz<\/a>) using standard university protocols.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep in mind that an <strong>approved Travel Authorization (TA) number is required <\/strong>before submitting a rental request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For full details on policy compliance, insurance guidelines, and rental booking instructions, refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1PYbqQGx38xGNdvmSXbpz_LAzIZu0jrp0tTysIOk5pc0\/edit?tab=t.0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Travel Manual<\/a> or contact University Travel.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University Controller\u2019s Office announced an update to state travel resources.
