{"id":23583,"date":"2026-01-14T09:19:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T14:19:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/units.cals.ncsu.edu\/business-operations\/?p=23583"},"modified":"2026-01-14T09:19:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T14:19:08","slug":"nifas-first-programs-are-moving-to-era","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/units.cals.ncsu.edu\/core-support\/news\/nifas-first-programs-are-moving-to-era\/","title":{"rendered":"NIFA\u2019s First Programs Are Moving to eRA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>As shared in the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) update on August 20, 2025:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NIFA announces the following programs will be transitioning new Funding Opportunity Announcements to the eRA grants management system in the <strong>first quarter of Fiscal Year 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equipment Grants Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Farm Business and Benchmarking Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food and Agriculture Service Learning Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food Safety Outreach Competitive Grants Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organic Agriculture Research &amp; Extension Initiative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewable Resource Extension Act National Focus Fund Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secondary Education, Two-Year Postsecondary Education, and Agriculture in the K-12 Classroom Challenge Grants Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smith-Lever Special Needs Competitive Grants Program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What Does This Mean for You?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are planning on applying for one of the above opportunities, you should register for eRA Commons as soon as possible. Prior awards will continue to operate using previous systems and processes.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Looking Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NIFA is working to include additional programs throughout FY 26 and beyond.
