Travel Center Notifications from the Controller’s Office: What’s New

The Controller’s Office has enhanced Travel Authorization and Reimbursement notifications as part of the updated Travel Manual launch. “Denied” is our only option to request more information. We know it can be misleading and doesn’t actually indicate a denial, but rather signals that additional information or edits are needed to complete the review. Notifications now identify who returned the document to support easier follow-up.

Please note: these updates apply only to university-level review notifications; college-level notifications are not affected. Email notifications will no longer list specific issues and instead prompt users to review pending items directly within the Travel Reimbursement.

When you receive a notification, click on the link in the email, or:

  • Log in to MyPack Portal.
  • Go to Employee Self Service → Travel Center → Recent Requests.
  • Select the TR number.
  • Look for line items marked with a yellow exclamation point, which indicate pending issues.
  • Click the comment icon on each line item to view details. Notifications will begin with “Per Travel Manual” and reference the relevant policy section.  The full comment history is available through the conversation bubble next to each line item.

Responding and Making Corrections:

  • You can respond in one of three ways: (1) directly in the line item comment, (2) in the main TR Comments box, or (3) by replying to the notification email.
  • Once all items are addressed, email the University Travel Team to continue the review.
