class=\"ncst-text-column__heading\">The Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation Fund Research in Sub-Saharan Africa<\/h2><p class=\"ncst-text-column__teaser\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cals.ncsu.edu\/horticultural-science\/people\/yencho\/\">Craig Yencho<\/a>, a William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor of Horticulture and co-developer of the Covington sweet potato, recently received a three-year, $15-million-dollar grant from the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation as part of a multidisciplinary team of scientists led by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cipotato.org\/sweetpotato\/\">International Potato Center<\/a>&nbsp;(CIP), to continue improving sweet potatoes in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<div
