We are part of the last group of colleges (<a href=\"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/era\/pd-go-live-faq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cycle 4)<\/a> to implement the new module within RED.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In short:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PD stands for \u201cProposal Development\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is a Module within the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/era\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RED<\/a> system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It will replace the PINS legacy system\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It will allow for the creation of a proposal within the module<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It will allow for system-to-system submission of applicable electronic proposals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It has built-in integration with PeopleSoft (e.g., HR, IACUC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proposal routing\/approvals (e.g., PI, Dept Head, etc.) will occur once the proposal is prepared\/finalized within the module<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Planning for implementation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CALS C&amp;G Pre-Award is revisiting current processes, working on a new \u201cintake\u201d system, will be working in the Demo PD Module and will participate in PD training ahead of the larger college roll-out. We will also be revisiting the routing\/approver roles (e.g., Dept Head) to ensure a backup is identified for key approval roles in PD.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are asking Faculty, Students and Staff <em>who participate in proposals<\/em> to take a few minutes to <strong>review and update <\/strong>their MyPack Portal information, specifically<strong> <\/strong>their<strong> phone number<\/strong> and <strong>on-campus address<\/strong>. This information will feed directly into PD, and subsequently the proposal, and the only mechanism to update it is via MyPack Portal.
