{"id":10960,"date":"2024-10-02T14:28:31","date_gmt":"2024-10-02T18:28:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/units.cals.ncsu.edu\/business-operations\/?p=10960"},"modified":"2024-10-04T07:17:59","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T11:17:59","slug":"updates-to-sdc-servicenow-request-form","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/units.cals.ncsu.edu\/business-operations\/news\/updates-to-sdc-servicenow-request-form\/","title":{"rendered":"Updates to SDC ServiceNow Request Form"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>To remain in compliance with university and sponsor guidelines, four questions have been added to the ServiceNow requests for both regular and 90-day SDCs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Is this SDC impacting a ledger 5 grant project that is ending in 90 days?&nbsp; (yes\/no)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If <strong>YES,<\/strong> the following three questions will appear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Are you adding an employee that is new to the grant? (yes\/no)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Are you increasing effort for someone currently charged to the grant? (yes\/no)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Provide scientific\/programmatic justification for why this adjustment is being requested.&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If <strong>NO,<\/strong> you will not need to answer any additional questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are considered \u201ccost transfers.\u201d Per <a href=\"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/administration\/compliance\/fiscal-compliance\/cost-transfers\/\">University Research Administration and Compliance<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A cost transfer is an expense that is transferred from one account to another after the expense was initially recorded in the financial accounting (FIN) system. <strong><em>When cost transfers to move expenses involve sponsored projects, it is critical that the transfer meets the rules for allowability, allocability, reasonableness and consistency<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The justifications will be reviewed with CALS Contracts &amp; Grants to confirm they are in line with sponsor and university guidelines.
