Waste Not
The Animal and Poultry Waste Management Center converts animal by-products into value-added solutions.
North Carolina ranks consistently in the top three states producing turkeys, broilers and hogs in the nation. The food animal industry employs tens of thousands of North Carolinians involved in raising, feeding and supporting production. NC State’s Animal and Poultry Waste Management Center is on the forefront of animal waste management by developing infrastructure, training and innovative approaches to covert animal by-products into value-added solutions for producers and the industry.
In collaboration with the North Carolina Food Animal Initiative, we develop knowledge and waste management options to enhance the animal production industries in North Carolina and the nation, and improve the environment and quality of life for all citizens.
